Sharjah Cooperative Society

Sharjah Cooperative Society

The Sharjah Cooperative Society was formed in 1977 under a decree from Sheikh Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi, the ruler of the emirate of Sharjah. The society came into being to provide services that catered to their local community while also providing the best social and economic standards for its people.

If you visited Sharjah in the Middle East, you may have noticed how this city has balanced its development while advancing their economy. For Sharjah Cooperative Society has achieved big profits while continuing to support its needs for diversity in both its architecture and its environment. This city is committed to providing notable services to its population while striving to better integrate various elements within the community over time – thus fostering economic advancement.

Sharjah Cooperative Society has created a successful franchise within the retail industry and is supported by a network of modern branches that are equipped with all modern shopping facilities and are spread throughout the emirate.

Launched Mentorship Program

In July 2020, Sharjah Cooperative began a new initiative to inspire excellence in the workforce of UAE nationals by offering mentorships and on-the-job training for fresh graduates from college with a 2.8 GPA or higher. Because this is such a great programme, they’re very careful about whom they choose to give these chances to. In fact, the program only accepts candidates who have graduated from a public university located in the United Arab Emirates with a GPA of 2.8 or more!

Sharjah Cooperative Society has put in place an ambitious plan to recruit nationals. It’s also paid attention to developing management and execution systems, human resources, and had special training programs for employees. Sharjah Cooperative Society strongly believes in human capital, has developed its branches for a modern market, has internal policy and procedure systems which comply with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 2009:9001) making it the first of cooperative societies and retail stores in the Arabian Gulf to be awarded this distinction. Its vision is “to be a brand of choice”.
